He believes that the coming on board of the Niger Delta Games has helped improve the performance of the region at national championships, as well as at international competitions.

“We give God all the glory. We thank our partners, Of course, our only major sponsors, the NDDC, who provided all we need for the athletes.

And the only people you see at that level are younger ones. And when you see them living their lives, living their dreams, there’s something to be happy about.
“You can see that most of the young people who came here have never been to cities before. So, imagine them coming to Benin, experiencing Benin just like those who came to Uyo, experienced Uyo.
“I’m sure you saw some of the vehicles they came in. Air-conditioned vehicles. That’s the beginning of the experience.
“Out of their city, some drove six hours, some drove eight hours. You know, I think it’s a story of a lifetime for them. And we are grateful to God.
“Don’t fail to tell us where we are doing wrong. Because we want to improve sports. We want to make sure cheating stops in sports.
“We want to make sure athletes stop taking drugs. We want to make sure people are not lying about their age. We also want to stop states from buying athletes to compete.
“Let us groom people in our states and in our communities. We have enough talents everywhere. We need to develop coaches.
