Opposition must stop Kwankwaso/Tinubu alliance, Deji Adeyanju warns

Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has advised the opposition to do all it takes to ensure that the alliance between President Bola Tinubu and the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso does not work out.

Adeyanju, in a social media post, suggested that any political unity between Tinubu and Kwankwaso, who is a political giant in the Northern region of the country will give the president a free ride to win his reelection.

He wrote, By now, all Atiku, Obi and every opposition supporter/voice should be speaking in one tune and completely united like in 2013/2014 but what do I know! Maybe Tinubu’s juju man deserves a raise. The opposition should try its best to stop the Kwankwaso/Tinubu alliance. Everyone and numbers matter in politics.”

Emerging reports indicate that plans are underway for the former Kano governor to collapse his structure into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

Ahead of his reported defection, his followers, particularly members of the NNPP, have vowed to move with the former Kano governor into the ruling party.
