Our operation on threats, Ondo commercial vehicles owners cries out

Commercial Vehicles Owners in the four local government areas of Akoko Area of Ondo state have cried out over the low patronage operation they are currently witnessing.

They lamented that their transportation business is highly threatened as many can no more fulfil their financial obligations to motor dealers who sold vehicles to them oh hired purchase due to cash crunch.

According to them, people are no more travelling like before as they complained scarcity of Naira currency in circulation.

It was learnt that the interstate movement is badly affected like Ikare to onitsha,Ikare to Lagos and Ikare to Abuja among other routes.

For example,in a park where five to six vehicles are taken off daily hardly can a vehicle loaded per day according to the Chainman of Ikare-Onitsha route,Terin Amubieya.

A Lagos-Ikare route driver,Biggy Joshua lamented similar challenge which he attributed it to cash crunch.

They complained that if the trend continues their means of livelihood will go down completely.

The same situation pervaded Ikare – Akure route, Ikare to Omuo and other intra-state roads in the area.

Many commercial road transporters in Akure and other major towns who bought fuel at outrageous amount could not get passengers at their variousmotor bikes due to the new Naira Policy.

They pleaded passionately to Federal Government and the Central Bank to respect Supreme Court judgement and print more currency for circulation to bail out Nigerians from hunger.

Meanwhile, prospective traders and market women Akure,the state capital are pleading to the commercial banks in the town to ensure cash flow for hungry customers who are daily trooping into the banks without success in getting money.
