The Ondo State Police Command has debunked reports of a midnight terrorist attack on the Okuta Elerinla Police Division of the Command in Akure,the state capital.
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Funmi Odunlami, said the attack which was carried out by some hoodlums was repelled by policemen on duty which made them unable to gain entrance into the station.
Odunlami however added that during the cross fire, one of the station’s guards Inspector, Temenu Boluwaji was hit by a bullet, but later died on his way to the hospital.
Already, the Commissioner of Police, CP Oyeyemi Adesoye Oyediran has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case and ensure the perpetrators are arrested.

The Police boss urged the people of the state to go about their lawful duty without fear, assuring that the criminals will be apprehended.
Early Monday morning around 1.00 am hoodlums were said to have invaded Okuta Elerinla Police Division in Akure.
Police Sources said men on duty repelled them and the miscreants could not gain entry into the station.
However, during the cross fire,one of the station guards, Temenu Boluwaji was hit by a bullet and died on his way to the Hospital.
