An unidentified police officer has sparked an outrage on social media after viciously flogging an man with a machete.

In a disturbing viral video, the police officer could be seen hitting the man with the object while people pleaded with him to stop.

The incident occured at the Ekori area of Cross River State.

It was gathered that the officer was spurred to act in that manner after the man challenged him and he went ahead to show his power by assaulting him with the machete.
