All is set for the President Commander- in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari to commission into commercial use the Lagos/Ibadan rail line project.
The project which started in 2017, under the supervision of the Federal Minister of Transportation, covers a length of one hundred and fifty-six kilometers 156km. crisscrossing 11 mega stations from Apapa Lagos to Ibadan.
The rail project when commissioned into commercial use is targeted at bringing to an end the perennial traffic menace in Apapa with the prompt evacuation of trucks and containers along the road, to various destinations across Nigeria.
The project has started skeletal services of moving passengers across the states, is expected to have a record of 4,000 passengers daily. A means which has been described as cheapest, safest and more convenient means of transportation in. Nigeria.

The Minister of Transportation was later joined by the Ogun State Governor Mr. Dapo Abiodun to ascertain the level of readiness for Thursday’s commissioning.
Rail transportation is to grow the economy of the country with the ease of transportation quagmire being experienced by farmers and manufacturers across the Country.
Meanwhile, in line with international practice, the Ministry of Transportation is bent on pushing a bill to the National Assembly for an establishment of National transportation policy, to enshrine a road map and for the best transportation practice.
The Minister while hosting journalists in a dinner in Lagos ahead of the commissioning, indicated that railway construction will be shifted to the Kaduna Kano line soon as Lagos/Ibadan is floated….
