
As part of the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Thursday announced the conferment of chieftaincy titles on nine eminent indigenes of Ilorin Emirate.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Emir, Mallam AbdulAzeez Arowana, in Ilorin said the recipients have contributed immensely to the development of the emirate.
According to the statement, a one time National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kawu Baraje, was bestowed with Tafida of Ilorin, while a philanthropist, Mallam Salihu Mustapha, becomes the Turaki of Ilorin.

A frontline Islamic preacher, Sheikh Farooq Onikijipa, was bestowed the title 4th Grand Mufti of Ilorin, while the former secretary to the state government, Alhaji Saka Onimago, became the new Shetima of Ilorin.
A former governorship candidate of CPC, Dr Alimi AbdulRasaq, was named the new Mutawalle of Ilorin; an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Oba Solagberu is now Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin, while a preacher, Sheikh Yakubu Aliagan, becomes the Seriki Malami of Ilorin.
