Despite federal government assurances that fuel has arrived the country to solve price hike and scarcity, the situation has not improved in the four local government areas of Akoko in Ondo state.
The development is still chaotic in Ugbe-Akoko with four filling stations,Ikare-Akoko with 14 functioning stations, Akungba Akoko, Seven filling stations and Arigidi with two stations only one is dispensing the product.
Long queue still persisted as selling prices ranging from N200 to N250 per litre.
It was also observed that kerosene and diesel have gone up with almost 150 percent.
An Ikare Akoko dealer who spoke in confidence blamed government for lack of sincerity and transparency in solving the crisis that has nearly crippled the nation economy.
According to him” we got supply with logistics at almost N200 per litre to get to the selling point.
A motorist, Edward Oladehinde from Erusu-Akoko noted that nobody can buy fuel at that exhorbiant without increasing transport fares.

A woman leader in Ikare-Akoko, Hajia Risikat Mohamed said goods and services went up due to the fuel crisis .
A retired civil servant from Ogbagi, Mr Isiaka Kazeem wondered how senior citizens and even serving government workers can cope with this high inflation and hardship.
They were unanimous in calling on government to arrest the situation and bring sanity to the sector which is the driver of the country’s economy.
