Super Eagles coaching role: Anichebe brands NFF clueless

Former Nigerian international, Victor Anichebe has descended hard on the board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over their handling of the Super Eagles coaching role following the sudden resignation of Finidi George from the job on Saturday.
Finidi was officially unveiled as Super Eagles Head coach on May 13 but quit the position after 32 days in charge, following last Thursday’s announcement by the NFF to hire a foreign Technical Adviser for the Eagles to boss Finidi.
Reacting to the NFF decision which has generated a lot of heat in the Nigerian football circle, Anichebe said the action of the football house was unfortunate, describing the leadership of the NFF board as clueless and called for their immediate disbandment.
“The whole federation is a complete and utter mess, completely clueless, lacking foresight, no clue about football. What was their hiring process? Does anyone even know? Nepotism at its finest. How can results be achieved with a leaderless bunch at the helm? The whole organisation needs to be disbanded and started again,” Anichebe said per soccernet.
The former Westbromwich Albion of England star, also did not spare Napoli of Italy forward, Victor Osimhen for his recent social media disrespectful outburst against Finidi
“This is something we really lack in Nigeria. We just love negativity and drama. VO was wrong to come out publicly. I’m sure he understands this now, but in the heat of the moment, it’s difficult. This could’ve been done in private, even though I fully understand he doesn’t want anyone to tarnish his image and commitment that he has worked tirelessly to maintain,” he added.
