Ahead of the 2023 general elections, politicians have been counseled against Violence.
Besides, electorates should shun cash and carry politics to guarantee the election of selfless, credible, and honest leaders.
The Vicar- in charge of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Akungba in Akoko Southwest local government area of Ondo state, Ven Foluso Akerele made the call in his sermon during today’s Sunday Service at Akungba-Akoko.
According to the cleric, the call became imperative when one considered the non-charlatan and carefree attitudes of some elected politicians after receiving the mandate of the voters through empty campaign promises.
He urged Christians to participate in the politics of the country at all tiers of government to be able to showcase the words of God.
Akerele berated some religious leaders in the country for their inability to speak the truth through the Holy Scripture.
The Anglican Priest appealed to the government to find lasting solutions to the problems facing Nigerians, particularly the ongoing fuel scarcity, insecurity, and unemployment.
The Cleric commanded the bold steps taken by the Ondo state government on diverting long vehicles passing Okerigbo hills in Akungba which had led to incessant motor accidents that had killed students and many residents of the Akungba Akoko University community.
