At last, NNPC submits 2014-2019 audited financial records to Reps

After much dilly-dally, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC finally laid its audited financial records between 2014 to 2019 before the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives.
The documents which were laid by the Chief financial Officer of the corporation, Umar Isa Ajiya, were admitted by the committee under oath.
Both sides have agreed on a two -week working period by which NNPC officials will appear before the committee to defend the financial transactions and explain grey areas, if there are any identified by the committee.

Meanwhile the PAC has summoned subsidiaries under NNPC to appear in two weeks to answer to audit queries raised by the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation.
Of note, among the agencies, are NAPIMs, Warri Refinery, according to the Chairman of PAC of the House, Honorable Oluwole Oke, who issued the summons, according to him, in line with the extant rules of the House
“Our Parliament is a parliament of rules. When we ask subsidiaries to come, it is in pursuant to our laws, are they must come themselves” he warned.
According to him, there is a report on NAPIMS, Warri Refinery and some agencies under the NNPC, and they must cause appearance in two weeks, the chairman ruled.
