The Senate has risen with a resolution to consider the said controversial report of its committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021 tomorrow.

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, made this known today following adjournment of other matters on the Order Paper of the Red Chamber to the next legislative day as moved by the Leader of the Senate, Sen. Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi, APC).

Ogun Schools Resume Tomorrow

The Senate received the report of the Committee on the Electoral Act today, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from the Committee Chairman, Sen. Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, and referred it to the Secretariat of the Red Chamber.

Recall that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, bemoaned the accusations and insinuations that the leadership of the Senate and the House of Representatives had tampered with the report of the Committee. He also admonished anyone who feels strongly about the report to lobby the lawmakers rather than blackmail NASS, saying lobbying is part of democracy.
