Man docked for stealing four goats

A 51-year-old man, Ademola Adetoun, on Monday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing four goats.

Adetoun, of no fixed address, is facing a three-count charge of felony, stealing, and threatening violence.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp Christian Okonofua, told the court that the defendant committed the offense sometime in January at No 1, Living fountain, Owode Elede, Ikorodu road area in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Okonofua said the defendant allegedly entered the premises and stole four goats valued at N200,000, and diesel belonging to the complainant, Mrs. Faith Ejere.

The prosecutor also said that on March 9, at about 9.00 a.m. under the Mile 12 Bridge, the defendant threatened to attack the complainant.

He said the offenses contravened sections 281, 406(1), and 56(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs. T.A. Shotobi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The magistrate adjourned the case until May 19, for mention.
