The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, Tuesday, paraded a member of a drug syndicate, arrested by a special team of policemen, during a sting operation, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
The Command also paraded a notorious kidnap kingpin and an ex-convict who had been on the police most wanted list, alongside his kidnap gang members, as well as armed robbers apprehended in different locations within the command’s area of responsibility.
The suspects were paraded alongside arms and ammunition, and 36 bags of substance, suspected to be Indian hemp.

Addressing crime reporters, while, parading the suspected criminal elements and drug peddlers, the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Garba, assured that the FCT command will continue to prevent crime from happening by promptly apprehending the criminals before they unleash their terror on society.
He said: “I wish to assure you of the command’s unwavering commitment to the noble goal of protecting the life and property of the FCT residents. In this fight, I wish to appeal to members of the public to join hands with the Nigerian Police force to defeat crime.
On 03/10/2023 at about 0405hrs, Police operatives from Mabushi Division carried out a raid of a criminal hideout at Gishiri Village. A total of thirty- six (36) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp were recovered. In the same operation, one Bello Ahmed AKA Wizzy Bola, a notorious and wanted armed robber terrorizing Gishiri Village and its environs was arrested. Suspect will be arraigned in court after the investigation”.
The Commissioner further revealed that “police operatives from Mabushi Division acting on credible intelligence trailed and arrested four (4) suspected armed robbers namely; Oluwatobi Precious (an ex-convict), Theophilus Elkana, Ibrahim Usman and Umar Ibrahim (ex-convict) close to Destination Hotel Bannex.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that suspects robbed motorists of their phones while in a traffic jam around the Mobil filling station, Mabushi and zoomed off in a getaway golf car. The suspects confessed to the crime, while the said Golf car with Reg. No. DKA 288 RY, grey in colour, iPhone 14 pro max and several ATM cards bearing different names and substances suspected to be cocaine were recovered from them. Suspects will be arraigned in court after the investigation”.
CP Haruna also seized the opportunity to dispel growing rumours of the disappearance of male sexual organs in FCT.
He noted that the FCT Police Command has recorded over ten cases of alleged disappearance of male organs across the Territory and the escalating incidents of mob action by irate youths, stressing that It takes the intervention of the Police Command to prevent the loss of life and property and restore law and order.
According to the CP,”Fourteen suspects who claimed that their male organs had disappeared were taken to the Hospital where the Medical Doctor confirmed that their male organs were intact and active. Consequently, they were charged in court for giving false information and inciting public disturbance.
“I wish to seize this opportunity to appeal to the residents of FCT to warn their wards and children to desist from raising false alarms. In addition, they are enjoined not to resort to jungle justice or mob action as innocent lives may be lost in the process.
“In the same vein, I wish to advise residents of the FCT to be wary of the kind of vehicles they board. It is advised that they should board painted taxis from designated motor parks. It is risky to board an unpainted taxi otherwise known as ‘kabu-kabu’ as they may fall victim to these robbers known as one chance”.
He reiterated his commitment and willingness to always work with residents to defeat crime in the Federal Capital Territory.
