Thirty-six sporting bodies in Kaduna state were disbanded in a move to create room for elections and democracy among sporting bodies. This was announced on Friday by Prof Kabir Mato, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Sports.
This move was necessary because the activities of the sporting bodies were not unanimous, as some were more active than the others. And the restructuring that is in place will allow for the Ministry to work closely with the new leadership of these sporting bodies.
It is hoped that the partnership of the sporting bodies and the Ministry would go a long way in positioning the sporting bodies to reclaim their glory and develop sports in the state.
