Fear of fake drugs make Nigerians embrace herbal medicine– Moses Babalola

In this interview,  Dr. Moses Babalola, a Chinese trained  Herbal Medicine  practitioner, talks extensively on the scientific transformation and dependability of herbal drugs in the face of inflitration of fake orthodox drugs in circulation in the country and other sundry issues. He speaks with Babs Oyetoro

Q:  From your background, you read Counselling Psychology and later went into the studying of Traditional Chinese Medicine. What was the motivation?

 A : Thank you for this question. You are quite right. To put things in a proper perspective, I read Counselling Psychology from Tai Solarin University in Ogun State. And as you rightly mentioned I later proceeded to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. Simple, my motivation was to help humanity. And I am achieving this goal.

Q: What’s the relationship between Counseling Psychology and Herbal Medicine?

A: What a brilliant question!  Counselling Psychology is a study of the state of the mind thus using talking therapy through a trained therapist listening to patient and helping him to find ways to deal with emotional issues. Counselling Psychology could be in different forms… it can be education counselling, marriage counselling, clinical counselling, etc.

While Herbal medicine is the combination of herbs that have undergone scientific processes for the treatment of different ailments.

 As a Counselling Psychologist, my services come handy here because you are dealing with human beings who is medically or psychologically challenged. Like I said earlier, I am into Herbal medicine practice to help humanity. That is the blend for me.

Q: How many years did you spend studying Traditional Chinese Medicine?

A: I spent four years. The training is a combination of series of studies both in Nigeria and attending seminars in China. I am glad that I was trained by some highly respected Chinese Professors in this field.  As a matter of fact, we are lucky to have some of these experts coming to Nigeria to train us as well.

Q:Well, you said you spent four years to learn Chinese Herbal medicine, and how long have you been practising?

A: I have been in practice for about seven years now. And I must say here that the experience has been splendid.

Q: Since you have been in practice, can you let us into some of the major breakthroughs you have experienced?

A: Okay, I have so much to say as regards the potency of FOHOW herbal medication and the accompanied various testimonies from our numerous patients.

Indeed, it is a breakthrough as you have rightly put it because of the remarkable feat recorded so far.

There  was a patient brought here, to be specific, a Togolese woman having breast cancer wrigling with pains. But by the grace of God, we examined here to ascertain the extend of the cancer then we commenced treatment.

To the glory of God, after three months the woman was completely healed after maggot came out of  her breast.  And she was totally delivered.

Q: Was the lady living in Nigeria?

A: Yes, she was living in Nigeria at that time so later she travelled back to her country. She was actually living with her relation in Nigeria.

Q: What year was it?

A: It was in 2018.

Q:  Tell us other serious cases you have handled?

A: I handled a case of somebody having gastric cancer.  Gastric cancer, is also known as stomach cancer, is a disease where abnormal cells in the stomach lining grow and divide uncontrollably. These cells can form a tumor and, if left untreated, may spread to nearby organs like the liver or pancreas.

This woman delivered her baby through surgery, in a public hospital, but the baby died after two months .

Q: She delivered through C S?

A: Yes, through C S and due to certain complications, the gastric cancer became bigger again as if she was pregnant.

So, this was another health issue that was tackled by the clinic.

We thank God that the woman was placed on certain herbal drugs and after sometime she became well.

There was this patient, incidentally he was a man, having five year chronic ulcer.  This man  hardly eat anything at all.

In fact,  he was just drinking spinach–’ewedu’ because if he takes anything  hard it becomes a problem. He was actually a Federal Road Safety Officer. The man was treated and got better.

 We have also handled hypertensive patients. This is one of the deadliest health related issues but we have treated several patients having such health challenge and they are in perfect condition now.

Q: We understand that FOHOW products are imported from China, are they certified by NAFDAC?

 A: As you know that NAFDAC is the regulating body of both production, distribution and marketing of all drugs in Nigeria today. All our drugs are certified by NAFDAC.

Besides, NAFDAC has taken it upon itself to visit the headquater of the company in China where these drugs are produced. The agency is a serious organisation. They are not ready to compromise their standard in any way.

Q Is there any measure put in place to check inflitration of fake drugs into your products?

A: It will be practically impossible to fake our drugs because you cannot walk into any counter to pick FOHOW products. We have accredited vendors with designated addresses. Besides, these drugs are specially packaged and moderately expensive yet still affordable to people.

You see, this is where we have edge over orthodox medicine as many people are losing confidence in these drugs because they are not sure whether they are original.  Most of our patients have testified to these facts.

Today, most Nigerians have lost interest in orthodox medicine because of the inflitration of fake drugs in circulation. And these people are getting the desired results. I must commend NAFDAC for the great work they are doig to get rid off fake drugs in the country.

Q: Do you accept medical reports from a recognised medical outfit?

A: Yes, we do.  We also encourage our patients to do quantum test.

Q: So, what does the quantum test entail?

A:The quantum test is general check of the body system. It checks the heart, the liver, the spleen, the gall, the immune system, the eyes, and every other organ of the body.
