I hold no grudges against Pst Eneche, Nigerians should move on, says disgraced law graduate

Anyim Veronica, a female worshiper of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, who was on Sunday publicly accused of giving false testimony in the church has broken her silence.

The worshiper, who is a police officer was disgraced by the Senior Pastor of the church, Dr Paul Eneche, after she claimed to have graduated with a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria.

He told her she didn’t sound like a Law graduate, going by how she spoke. He also told her that there is nothing like a “BSc in Law” and demanded that she leave the pulpit.

However, some netizens have demanded that the pastor of the mega-church apologise to the lady after it was confirmed that her claims were true.

Bowing to pressure, a statement on Monday signed by the Personal Assitant to the Senior Pastor, Sylvester Edoh, the church explained that the intent of the encounter was not to embarrass Anyim.

“As a commission, we regret every inconvenience, hurt, and embarrassment this unfortunate scenario has caused to Ms Anyim Veronica Nnenna. We remain committed to her physical welfare as well as her spiritual growth. God bless us all.”

In her first reaction to the incident, Anyim maintained that she remains committed to the church.

Sharing a picture of herself, Eneche and his wife on her Facebook account, the law graduate wrote, “I want to inform the whole world that I just had a warm meeting with my spiritual father and mother Dr Paul Enenche and Dr Becky Enenche.

“I don’t have any grudge against the church or them. I remain committed to serving God as a member of Dunamis church.

“I am thankful for the concern of the public. I have put the situation at my back and I have moved forward and I want everybody to do the same. Peace.”
